Natural Solutions for Families

Why do we share natural solutions for families?

Hi!  My name is Anna.  You can read more about me and my family’s journey to health on the About page of this site.  My goal in this blog is to encourage moms and families who are struggling to find natural wellness options.  For over a decade, I have searched for answers to common issues our family faces.  Conventional wisdom and the “pat answer” left me wanting something better.

In 2014, I began to study natural solutions to everyday health concerns.  In this blog, I share some of the answers we have uncovered on our journey to a healthier life.  Some of these questions include: “Is there a natural substance that promotes a regular menstrual cycle?”, “Which DIY acne remedies are safe, and which ones have adverse side effects?”, “Can I really have a homemade pantry without spending all day in the kitchen?”, “Is there an essential oil that may encourage me to stay calm in anxious situations?”, “How do you pronounce quinoa and will my family eat it?”.

So relax, I am not a professional.  And, I hope that thought and this site encourages you as you navigate through your own journey to a naturally healthy life!

About Us

Our Story

I have always wanted to live a practically healthy life.  True health is not found in a diet or a good book.  It is the daily decisions we make for every aspect of our life.  It’s found in the methods we use to deal with stress, loss, love, finances, family, everything.  During my teen years, I thought I was eating well.  My spiritual life was great.  I had a close walk through the Holy Spirit with my Savior Jesus and Father God.  I had friends and family whom I loved and who loved me.  Birth, death and the in between things were all familiar.  Education was a priority to me, and I was on a path toward graduating in the top 10 of my class and preparing for college.

I continued to be sort-of health conscious after college, marriage and even giving birth to four children.  However, in February 2014, I parked outside of a Sam’s Club and desperately searched Google for answers.  On November 1st, 2011 I had delivered our fourth beautiful baby.  On the 2nd, I followed through with my decision to have a post-tubal ligation.  Afterwards, I began to experience symptoms that were completely foreign to me.  Anxiety, depression, severe mood swings, constant menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia), and weight gain were daily reminders that I purposefully made an uninformed decision.

On that February day, I begged God for answers that would not involve a hysterectomy.  He answered with Vitex (chasteberry) and Norwegian cod liver oil.  My first symptom diminished and then disappeared within a week.   I had started on a journey of health that would take me through weight loss, hormonal changes, natural medicine, a lesson in modern agriculture, great loss, mourning, incredible gain, and hope for myself and my family.

Now, I want to share the hope I found during this journey with you.  Join me as I write about our family and the tools we use to live a practically healthy life.
